Message from the Principal

Welcome to Green Hill Intermediate School!

It is with great excitement and gratitude that I return to Green Hill Intermediate School as principal for the 2026–2027 school year.

My name is Victor Henson, and I have proudly dedicated 22 years to serving students, families, educators, and communities throughout Panola County. During my career, I have had the privilege of serving in a variety of roles, including teacher, theatrical director, professional school counselor, assistant principal, district director of operations, head of school, and principal. Each of these experiences has strengthened my belief that when schools, families, and communities work together, every child can achieve at high levels.

Green Hill holds a special place in my heart because this is where I spent the first ten years of my career with the North Panola School District. Returning to Green Hill is more than a new leadership opportunity. It is a homecoming, and I am honored to once again serve a school and community that have been such an important part of my journey in education.

Throughout my career, I have served at Green Hill Elementary, Crenshaw Elementary, Como Elementary, Como Primary, and North Panola Middle School. As principal of Como Elementary, I was proud to lead alongside a dedicated team of educators as the school achieved a “B” rating on the Mississippi State Accountability Rating System. That accomplishment reinforced something I have always believed: excellence is possible when we establish high expectations, remain focused on student achievement, and work together toward a common goal.

This year, our theme is “Hunting for Excellence.” At Green Hill Intermediate, we will be intentional in our pursuit of excellence in everything we do. We will challenge our students to grow academically, develop strong character, take responsibility for their learning, and recognize that excellence is not simply a destination. It is a daily commitment.

As we serve students in grades 3 through 5, we recognize the importance of these intermediate years. This is a critical time when students strengthen foundational skills, become more independent learners, discover their abilities, and prepare for the next stage of their educational journey. Our goal is to ensure that every student leaves Green Hill better prepared, more confident, and ready to succeed.

Your involvement, encouragement, communication, and support make a tremendous difference, and I look forward to strengthening the partnership between home and school throughout the year.

I am honored to be back home at Green Hill and excited about what we will accomplish together. We have an incredible opportunity before us to build upon the strengths of our school, embrace new possibilities, and create an environment where students and staff are empowered to reach their fullest potential.
